Well, I haven't done a great job of documenting lately, but Thayden is still on his special diet and doing very well.  We are on week 7 and so far have been able to add back in fish, shrimp, eggs, and tonight milk and so far so good.  We attempted to add in corn a couple of weeks a go and that was a flop - he was very eager to eat the corn (from the farm, the best there is) and he had 2 servings but from the beginning of supper to the end of supper he was a completely different boy.  He became very hyper, started picking on his sister, throwing food, running around...not good behavior at all.  Now, Grandpa and Grandma were visiting and we were eating in a different location (the dining room rather than the kitchen), and Thayden can get easily excitable but this was a little much.  And again, his behavior was marginal for 2-3 days following this.  So, despite him trying to negotiate with me, corn is again out of his special diet.  After this ordeal I research corn allergies and OMG corn is in everything.  I guess that's good when your family are corn farmers, but bad if you think your child might be sensitive to it.  All kinds of things like of natural preservatives (ie, citric aid found in jams, etc), iodine put in table salt, the base of most vitamins like calcium carbonate and gluconate and citrate, "natural flavorings" that are in almost anything...I tell you it is everywhere.  And what's worse is the FDA only requires labeling of the top 8 food allergens, and corn is consider #9 or 10, therefore they do not even need to put it in the ingredient list if it's not one of the main ingredients!  I would take a dairy or gluten allergy over corn any day!  Bummer.  In the mean time we will forge ahead with adding in other things.

For valentine's day, Nana got Thayden a 100 piece dinosaur puzzle which he put together all on his own.  This kid is really good at puzzles.  He is also getting really good at reading - even big words that require a lot of sounding out!

The other day we took advantage of the milder temps and the kids rode their bikes.  Well, Thayden rode his bike, Sierra attempted but couldn't get the hang of pedaling.

Her alternative to pedaling - get Mommy and Daddy to push her.  I think by this summer she'll get the hang of it (hopefully.)  Thayden was much more gifting gross-motor-wise, he so easily picked up things like pedaling, swimming, etc.  Sierra's strengths are definitely verbal as I mentioned in the prior posts she speaks in full sentences, tells stories, and relays songs she sings at school all the time.  But she likes to think she can keep up with her big brother.

I forgot to mention that at Sierra's 2 year old check up she was just below the 5th percentile for weight and almost at the 10th percentile for height!  A Thayden recently had a check up and is growing at about the 5th%ile for both height and weight.  On the curve is a good thing for my little peanuts!
