| Blurry but a good smile with my baby |
2 going on teen I think! Wow - it's hard to believe she is 2 years old already, but at the same time a whole lot has happened in the last 2 years! Here is a little update on our beautiful princess.
 |
| Busy girl |
- Sierra is a star student. I don't know if she has ever had a bad day at school!
- She speaks in sentences, and is usually understandable. Sometimes her sentences can get pretty complicated and she has even told a few short stories recently!
- She loves to read books. She can "read" her favorites by memory including "Brown Bear Brown Bear", "We're Going on a Bear Hunt," and "I Love You Stinky Face" (appropriately, that's the potty book).
- Despite her favorite books being about bears, she still loves dogs more than anything. No, she is not getting a puppy for her birthday.
- She also loves singing songs, although when she comes home and sings the songs from school we have no clue what she is singing most of the time. Bumble Bee, the ABC's, and now Happy Birthday are her favorites.
- She frequently counts to 10, and if she takes her time she can accurately count objects up to 10 as well (this is more advanced as when kids start out they just recite numbers by memory but cannot apply it.) She can recite numbers 1-15 on special occasions.
- She used to know all her colors, and now we are not quite sure because she always says the wrong colors, almost on purpose. We're not sure if she does it on purpose (because she often laughs) or if she really doesn't know. We'll see.
- This past year she had surgery twice on her eyes. The 2nd surgery worked and although she often tilts her head and focuses only with her right eye when she is looking at details she got a clean bill of health at her ophtho appointment last week!
- She has outgrown her egg allergy, but she has asthma. Bummer.
- She loves her baby dolls. When she gets one, she strips her naked, covers her up with a blanket and says "love you, night night." Silly girl. She also loves to have tea parties. But, last time she was in the store she chose a monster truck as her special treat - anything to be like brother!
- She is obsessed with FaceTime on the iphone. I swear, I'm surprised this girl knows what a real phone is because she always gets to look at the person she is talking to. If you want to be her friend, FaceTime her.
And now, a couple photos from her big day. More to come once I sort through them all!

Not a birthday present, but the rocking horse is always a hit

We had Sierra's birthday party with friends at Little Monkey Bizness - basically a toddler gym. It was perfect entertainment for 1-4 year olds and I didn't have to have the stress of finding activities for 10 kids under 4 or cleaning up after them :)

The only bad thing about a party at a place like this is the limited time. They don't allow opening presents there, which actually might not be a bad thing given how slowly and deliberately Sierra opens presents. If the other kids have the patience of Thayden we would have had a lot of fussiness!

What a great day! I am happy she got to celebrate with some friends and family. Love you Sierra Brielle!
