Check-ups

I think the most universal phrase coming from mother's mouths is "they grow up too fast." Well, it's true. Today I took Sierra in for her 2 month well-child check and they let me bring in Thayden at the same time for his 3 year. 3 years. Wow. He of course is growing well and meeting all his milestones (exceeding, really), but what was most amazing was how he was independently able to interact with the doctor. While I tried to console a fussy Sierra, he answered questions all by himself - about what you do with a cracker, the colors in the room, where his heart was, and what he likes to eat. He let her examine him not only without a fuss, but with curiosity. I can still remember when he was the 2 month old in my arms, and now he is such a big boy!

Sierra is also growing fast; in 2 months she has come close to doubling her weight. Her nadir after birth was around 5 lbs, and today she weighed 9.5 lbs exactly! That's the 20th percentile! Despite spitting up enough to go through 3 outfits (and 3 shirts for me) before noon today, she is obviously eating well and getting what she needs! I guess we'll just get good usage out of our washer and dryer for awhile.

Some highlights of her 2 month skills:
- rolling from front to back (see a couple posts ago)
- smiling and cooing a lot
- bringing her hands together (and going cross-eyed to see them)
- tracks an object, especially if it makes noise & moves
- can grasp an object put in her hand
- knows her momma and daddy, and her brother too
- loves diaper-free time on the floor
- loves cuddling (there is nothing better than naps with her on your chest)

I couldn't choose just a couple pictures to post, so here are a bunch that we've taken in the past week.
