6 weeks

Sierra last Tuesday, having some "diaper-free time" at Gamma's.

On a walk in her stroller yesterday afternoon - gorgeous 70+ degree day!

Sierra is 6 weeks old today! Here is a summary of what she is up to recently:
  • Packing away the newborn-sized clothes, she is growing fast!
  • Lifting her head with ease to turn it from side to side while on her tummy
  • Eating well from a bottle - introduced last week while I had several school projects. She consistently takes 3.5 ounces but even up to 5 at a time (but if very finicky about the temperature)!
  • Much more stimulated by changing environments, lights, and sounds. This can make daytime sleeping difficult when running errands and visiting family!
  • Recognizes mommy and daddy's faces and voices.
  • Dislikes evening time and is often fussy at this time - borderline colicky, but we've been able to find a few things to make her more comfortable.
  • A few social smiles and even an occasional coo these past few days. I can't wait to see more of those gorgeous smiles!
  • Still enjoying bath time
  • Went on her first walks outside with this gorgeous weather and seems to like it!
That's all I can think of right now. We spent the past weekend at the farm while we had an open house to try to sell our home. We've had about a dozen showings and still no offers; we were hoping traffic would pick up after the match but unfortunately not so much. If you know of anyone looking to buy (hey, we'd even consider renting) in Rochester, please send them our way! Thayden is being his busy, trouble-seeking self, but hilarious as well.
At the park on a gorgeous day this week

This past weekend while I was driving a turn sent him sliding in his carseat and he says "Mommy what the heck are you doing?!" He has also made up stories to rationalize his actions and get out of trouble, expresses his feelings by stating "i'm not happy, i'm mad" (or sad or tired), and says he is "neber neber neber neber neber" going to eat his dinner.
(apparently he made an exception for this Nana-made dish)

He has little interest in learning his ABC's but does recognize some letters (especially T because "T is me! Thayden Davis!") and is great at counting. He also knows all his colors (green is his favorite, for John Deere) and his shapes. He is really into dinosaurs recently, so I was excited to find some sale dinosaur shirts for the Easter bunny to give him - we are going to have a dino-rific Easter! Yesterday, Thayden didn't get a nap at school, which led to a major melt down when we went for a bike ride and Thayden took off on his own and went into the street. Major trouble. He was brought home immediately and sent to his room. He fell asleep pretty quickly, and even after waking up from his late nap, he fell asleep with Daddy again. Sierra was also getting her zzz's at the same time, which is where I am headed now. Happy Easter everyone!

  1. Sorry to hear your house isn't selling either. At least you've had showings (3 times as many as we have). Have you dropped your price at all? We've tried dropping the price quite a bit and are hoping to get some increased activity from that. Best of luck! and Happy Easter!

You're kiddos are adorable as ever, of course!
