All things scary

The first Denver snowfall was early this year, and was much more than necessary.  I was less than happy when I awoke to Thayden yelling at 5am "Mommy Mommy Mommy there's snow on the ground, lots of snow!"  I was even less happy when an hour later when I was walking out the door to my car under 6-8 inches of snow, I fell down our porch stairs and bruised my tailbone.  Still hurts.  I spent the rest of the snowy day at work, while after school Troy and the kids played in the snow.

Thayden with his first snowman of 2011.
Troy said Thayden did great in the snow and was very excited about making a snowman and an igloo.  Sierra, on the other hand, hated it (she must have gotten my genes.)  Troy had to bring her back inside and she watched the boys make a snowman, and then joined them for a picture.
Good looking snowman. Excited Thayden. Not-so-excited Sierra.
The Saturday before Halloween I had off (yay! first day in 13!) Miraculously, three other mommas in my residency class had off as well so we all got together with our babes at the zoo for the "Boo in the Zoo" event.  Which equals chaos, by the way.  After dropping us off Troy drove around for 45 minutes looking for parking before going home, so I was left with the munchkins and half the city of Denver.

And then it was Halloween.  Thayden was pretty darn excited to be Buzz LightYear.  It would have been cute for Sierra to be the little cowgirl from ToyStory 2, but I couldn't find that costume so a Denver Bronco's cheerleader had to do. As you can see, the snow didn't stick around long.

The pompoms didn't match but she didn't carry them anyway.

The very cool bags Nana sent for the kids
They both did a really good job trick-or-treating and definitely got into it!  Sierra had no hesitancy to walk up porches, get candy and lots of cute comments, and bring it back to her collection after gnawing through the wrappers (man she if fast at that!)  After returning from trick-or-treating they were full of smiles and energy.  Getting them to both look at the camera together is tricky, but occasionally it happens!

They spent the next half hour literally jumping up and down.  I didn't know a single sucker could do that...Halloween high?  Hopefully they sleep through the night!
