9 months (and change)

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Late, I realize. I have been working 14 hour days through the holidays so I am a little behind on life, including the blog. Sierra is now 9 months (well, technically 9 months and 11 days now!) But in any case, here is a glimpse of what she is up to and a couple of her school pics.

Sierra...
- loves table food, can only be persuaded to eat baby food for us on occasion (and when she does the organic pouches of green goobery stuff wins.) She LOVES guacamole, and pasta (she chowed spinach ravioli the other night.) She still has 3 teeth.

- Is doing really well with a fine pincer grasp to pick up little pieces of food and put them in her mouth, especially with her left hand. (this also means she is adept at putting other little non-food items in her mouth as well...)

- can wave, clap, play peek-a-boo, say "mamamama" when i walk in the door from work and "dada" whenever things aren't going her way (daddy comes to the rescue.) She can mimic us saying "bottle" with a "baba" noise.

- Is crawling ALL over the place, pulling herself to stand on furniture, walls, and has even tried to get up to a stand all by herself but didn't quite make it. She has great balance and will let go and just stand by herself for a good 30 seconds but doesn't dare take a step forward...yet.

- She loves walking with your fingers everywhere, she takes some steps along furniture but isn't proficient at cruising yet.

- dances to music. Well, actually bops but it is pretty cute. Below is a picture of her on her music table.

Like Thayden, Sierra is not a fan of chilling at home and would much rather be out and about exploring. This was a given when the weather was nice but now that it has gotten chillier and my schedule has become more demanding Troy often opts to stay indoors with the kids, making both of them pretty hyper (and sometimes crabby). Here are the little monkeys in a happy moment :) Sierra adores her big brother.

Which brings me to a little of what the rest of us have been up to. We just signed Thayden up for a soccer team (first practice today!) and Troy joined the athletic center where Thayden's soccer lessons are (they also have a child care area for Sierra). He is the blond one on the right.
Troy is also considering becoming a member of the Children's museum here in Denver (him and the kids have been there a few times). We have also finally found a church that we like so we are excited about that! Finally, we would love to go skiing a few times this season if my schedule will allow it. But in the mean time, the kids find things to do around the house...

Thayden's school pics:

We just put up our tree this past Sunday although it isn't decorated yet. I am at the NICU (neonatal intensive care unit) all of December. I am looking forward to a little break in my schedule after Christmas where I will be working regular hours again (7:30-5:30ish, and only 1 weekend out of the month!) That lovely schedule will only last a month and then again I will be back to the grind of crazy hours. But I love my job. :)
