2010 Reflection

One year ago our lives were filled with uncertainties that were awaiting to be unveiled over the coming months. I had just wrapped up interviewing across the country for different Pediatric residency programs....we were preparing to put our first house on the market...we were 30 weeks pregnant...our energetic son was moving up from the toddler class to the preschool class. Although I did not have time to write a letter to send in our Christmas cards this year (OK, so I'm still working on getting those Christmas cards mailed off!), I think it is appropriate to write a quick post. Reminiscing on the past 12 months makes me feel incredibly blessed. This past year we:

JANUARY - Celebrated Gamma and Papa's 50th anniversary! Lots of love, memories, and delicious catered food (and wine I couldn't appreciate ;))

FEBRUARY - Welcomed our amazing daughter, Sierra Brielle, into our lives. She completes our perfect family and is so loved.



- Finished our basement from scratch (by "we" I mean Troy on this one!) From top to bottom 100% hard work and a damn fine job he did!


MARCH - Matched into one of the nation's top pediatric residency programs and our first choice - Denver!

APRIL - Sold our first house in one of the worst housing markets - thanks to some good staging and the handiwork on the basement and beautiful deck by Troy. We definitely miss that huge deck!






- Diligently performed job searches, wrote cover letters, sent resumes and interviewed for a new job (for Troy). And had several excellent offers despite the high unemployment rate - way to go Troy! (No pictures for hard labor...)

MAY - Celebrated Thayden's THIRD birthday with lots of baseball, presents and cake.

- Graduated medical school, earning the letters "M.D." behind my name along with the humbling distinction and responsibility that comes along with those letters. This recognition is also deserved for my husband and children for the support they give and sacrifices they make!

JUNE - Moved to a new house (much smaller), new city (much bigger), started at a new school (Thayden)/first school (Sierra), started a new job at HP (Troy), and became an intern (me). Whew June was full of new for us - obviously too busy to take pictures of these things!

JULY/AUGUST - Went on our first through fourth family camping trips in the mountains, and lots of hiking, swimming, and outdoor summer fun exploring our new home.


SEPTEMBER- Celebrated our 6th Anniversary on the same day as the marriage of my brother, Josh, to my new wonderful sister-in-law Jessica.


OCTOBER - Became an aunt/uncle/cousin when Troy's sister had her first baby, Max (who will be bigger than Sierra in no time at all!) :)

NOVEMBER - Drove only one hour away to our wonderful welcoming cousin Shannon for Thanksgiving (and a few other occasions) for a gourmet T-day dinner. And celebrated my golden birthday. So thankful for family close by!

DECEMBER - Celebrated our first Christmas as a family of 4 together in a winter wonderland. (Pictures to come when I get the camera back!)
