Sleep and Swim

After two weeks of age Sierra has grown out of her perfect sleeping cycle. She used to go 3-3.5 hours at night between feedings - allowing me to sleep for at least 2.5 hour chunks of time. Life was good. However, this week she has been wanting to eat every 1.5-2 hours at night and is awake for longer periods as well, leaving me with less than 5 hours of interrupted zzzz's for an entire night. Despite lying in bed and withholding caffeine, I have been unsuccessful in taking naps during the day. Now I remember why I was so exhausted with Thayden! Hopefully we'll fall into a better schedule soon. Here are a couple pictures of my precious girl sleeping during the day.

Thayden has plenty of energy - and has been wearing it off at the RAC (Rochester Athletic Club). Yesterday he had a major breakthrough in swimming. For months now, Mr. Independent has been trying to swim alone, without floaters or someone helping him, but he would sink immediately. Yesterday something clicked and he did an amazing job swimming forward underwater! He would jump in (belly flop style), surface, and swim to Daddy. Then he'd push off Daddy and swim to the edge (>5 feet), climb out, and repeat endlessly. I wish I would have had the camera along - definitely a proud parent moment! Next time I'll be sure to have the camera and capture some video as well as still pictures! Tonight he has gymnastics class - preparing for his first recital the end of this month! Below are pictures of Thayden taken a couple weeks ago playing at the RAC.

Getting a sticker after gymnastic class.
