Quick update
Sierra's eye surgery (for strabismus) went well on Tuesday. She couldn't have her morning milk which we were worried would make for a miserable time for all of us but she did remarkably well. Troy and I got to take her back to the operating room and stay with her until they put her to sleep, then the entire thing including anesthesia took 30 minutes. (Harder as a mom than a doctor.) Troy stayed with her in recovery as she woke from the sedation and kept her food down then they went home around noon (I was still working clinic that day.) She recovered wonderfully and was back to her feisty self by that evening! Our follow-up appointment the next day Dr. E was happy with the results, but we won't know for sure whether the surgery was successful until 2 months out (20% failure rate). We have to put antibiotic drops and ointment in her eyes but no more patching or any other interventions for now. We appreciate your thoughts and prayers and please continue to pray the surgery is successful and won't have to be repeated!
