Green

Most of you know Thayden's favorite color, ever since he understood the concept of colors, is green. This may or may not have had influence from the green baseball field or John Deere tractors. Looking through one of our recent digital albums, he has another reason to love green - it is the predominate color in all of our gorgeous mountain pictures.

(Technically all the following pictures are from a hiking trip back the end of July...they were lost on my camera but still worth posting!)

You'll find a lot more green with Thayden's wardrobe, his tractor collection, our new stroller, and his other accessories. Below is a pic at our local pool on his green towel. It is a bummer the pools have closed for the season because we're still having 90+ degree days! Can't wait for the brand new rec center that is 1 block away from us to open this winter!

Sierra is seeming to prefer the color green these days as well. Unlike Thayden who was a major fruit baby (OK, still is), Sierra prefers veggies...particularly green ones. Her favorite is sweet peas. Well, at least they were her favorite until she scarfed down more than her fair share of the guacamole I made tonight! She thought that was great stuff - couldn't keep it coming fast enough. And then she had to play in it, so we had guac all over her face, hands, and pants...and mommy too. (Sorry, we didn't get a picture but it would have been fitting for this post.) I guess I have two green-loving kids!

This weekend I have off (yay!) so we are going to try to experience colors of the fall with more mountain hikes. We're still trying to figure out where to go but where ever it is I am sure it will be beautiful! Even with the disorientation and fatigue of working the night shift this past month I still smile when I see the mountains in the horizon and the super sunny skies of Denver. I guess that means we chose the right place to be!
