Last March update

First, we love the weather.  70's+ and sunny day after day is wonderful, given that it is only March is even better!  The kids have very much enjoyed the outdoors.

Second, I'm feeling particularly exhausted despite the good weather.  This is my 6th month of service in a row for work and things have been piling up at home without me doing my fair share.  I am ready for my week of vacation that is coming up next week, but sad that will be my last time off until July.   Thankfully, Thayden and I got to go to the mountains and go skiing last week on my day off which was a nice break.

Third, Sierra is so smart, but becoming more and more bossy.  She tells me "get out of my room right now Mommy!" (foreshadowing the teen years?)  and "Thayden! You listen to me! You sit on step for time out!"  She is also a funny girl.  She tooted a few times the other night and said "Mommy I's gassy," and many more examples I cannot think of right now.  :)

Finally, we have determined Thayden is sensitive to tomatoes in addition to corn.  Monday evening we had spaghetti (again, organic nothing-added sauce).  The kids devoured their food, but before the meal even ended Thayden flipped a switch and was a different kid.  He was crazed, loud but not speaking coherent words, running around and either giddy or collapsed in a pile on the floor sobbing.  Oh, and a fair share of anger - even rage, as well.  This went on all night.  He seemingly slept fine but again in the morning was misbehaving, and Tuesday had a horrible day at school - had to leave group due to disruptions, needed frequent redirection, had an accident (which very rarely ever happens.)  It continued into Tuesday evening although was less intense than Monday night, just exasperating.  It is good to know what is affecting him, but it is oh so difficult to eliminate all corn (it's in everything) and tomatoes (I love Italian and lasagna, pasta, and pizza are some staples in our family.)  Plus, ever since getting those antibiotics his behavior has not been as good as when we initially started his special diet, making it difficult to know if it's because of the antibiotics, adding too many new foods (or perhaps not eliminating enough), or the diet has fizzled out.  Believe me, this isn't easy.  We are approaching T's birthday which he is pretty fixated on his special diet being done then and it just seems like we have frequent setbacks.  Well, we'll just have to see how the next few weeks go.

Well behaved on Sunday
