UPDATE
1. Sierra had her eye surgery and she did great! She was in the OR a total of 30 minutes, including anesthesia and the operation (and 7-8 needle pokes to try to start an IV in her baby fat!) She was discharged from the hospital at 10:15am and by noon I had a text from Troy that she was "a crazy woman!" Runny, talking, and busy-body. Troy was going to keep her home the day after surgery but after one day of trying to keep up with her he decided she needed to go to school. And best of all, her eyes are still straight!
 |
| Before the surgery you can see her eye turn in (it alternated which one) |
 |
| After (sorry, the pics aren't the greatest view of her eyes, take my word for it!) |
2. Sierra had her 18 month well child check and is doing beautifully. She is at the 8%ile for height, 7%ile for head circumference, and the 5%ile for weight, and growing well for her petite self! She is talking a lot, running on climbing on everything, and tries to pedal a tricycle (can get a few backwards pedals in there.) She wants to be a gymnast as she LOVES doing flips, rolls, and swings on any bar that she can find.
3. I take the last step of the medical licensing exams this week. A 2 day (14 hours of testing), $800 test and I will be done! (With the exception of the peds and specialty board licensing exams I'll have o take.)

THAYDENISMS
A 4 year old's mind is something else. This post is over-do, but I thought I need to document some of the things Thayden has said to have a good laugh later on.
July 2011 while Uncle Ti was visiting.
Shanlee: "We'll just go shopping in the mean time."
Ti: "Noooo! Shopping stinks."
Thayden: perplexed. "No it doesn't Ti."
Ti: "Yes it does Thayden."
Thayden: "No it doesn't Ti! I've been shopping before and it doesn't stick at all! I like the way shopping smells."
A day in September:
(Upset with me, before nap) "Mommy you're not coming to my 5 year old birthday or my 6 year old birthday or my 7 year old birthday! That's 5, 6 and 7 and you're not invited! So there!"
(After a nap, same day) "Daddy, thank you for making chicken. Mommy, thank you for making the rest of supper."
Other moments to cherish (or laugh):
Before supper when taking out the nummy bread from the oven. "Mommy, Daddy has to break that bread because that's the bread that God made. Daddy, you break the bread, cuz God made that bread right Daddy?"
On a bike ride now that he can ride without training wheels. Me: "Thayden you did really good starting, you had great balance!" Thayden "Yes, I just got my balance back! Cuz someone took it from me but now I have it back."
